Meet the Team
We have a dedicated team of staff at our Coventry site,
supporting, guiding and inspiring our students.

Director of Operations
David Strong
David Strong works across our multiple sites, managing our Academy behind the scenes and supporting the day-to-day running of both the Coventry and Southam sites. David has been a key part of the The Positive Impact Group's growth and will play a critical role within its future. David's daily responsibilities include mainly supporting Academy staff and aiding the development of The Positive Impact Group. David is usually the first point of contact for any enquiries you may have and, is based at our Head Office.

SEND Coordinator and Early Help Lead
Amelia Goodhew
Amelia Goodhew has an extensive experience and knowledge in SEND, with a First Class Honours degree in BA (Hons) Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and a number of recognised honour awards. Amelia's role includes supporting staff to meet SEND needs within bespoke and personalised curriculums, completing annual reviews for all Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and managing all referrals and admissions. Amelia will usually be the first contact point when we have received your child's referral.

Pastoral Welfare Officer and DSL
Jordan Scobbie
Jordan has considerable experience with supporting children and young people within education, particularly those who struggle to engage. Jordan is excellent at building relationships and engaging with all young people, even those where multiple previous placements have failed. As part of his role, he assists transitions in and out of the Positive Impact Academy, delivers all aspects of our curriculum and has additional safeguarding responsibilities as our Designated Safeguarding Lead.

LAC Welfare Officer and DSL
Gemma Lish
Gemma joined the team with a wealth of experience and a passion in working with vulnerable young people. As the LAC Welfare Officer, she will act as a mentor and support all our looked-after young people in achieving both personally and academically. Gemma's day-to-day role includes supporting staff with LAC pupils, supporting our Looked After Children through 1:1 intervention work, and management of Personal Education Plans (PEPs) with external agencies.

Senior Education Mentor and DSL
Kate Warren
Kate is an experienced education mentor, who has helped engage countless young people within their education and personal development. She also has a wealth of knowledge and experience in safeguarding young people, which Kate uses in her additional responsibilities as a Designated Safeguarding Lead. Not only does Kate deliver across our curriculum, but also supports staff in delivering personalised and bespoke curriculums to all of our children and young people.

Education Mentor
Mitchell Barr
Mitchell has progressed from an Apprentice to an experienced Education Mentor and has always strived to develop within his role. Mitchell also has additional responsibilities as our Business Development Officer, continuing his education and career progression with the Positive Impact Training. Liked by staff and students throughout, Mitchell is a valuable part of the team.

Destiny Deeming
Destiny joined the Positive Impact Academy after completing her Teaching Assistant apprenticeship, continuing her professional development within the Positive Impact Group. She has become a valuable member of the team, supporting our children and young people in their educational and pastoral development.

Keaton Benson
Keaton joined the Positive Impact Academy in January 2023, progressing from an apprenticeship with The Positive Impact Foundation. Keaton has become a valuable member of the team, supporting our students across all areas of the curriculum. Keaton is well-liked by all of our students.

Ashleigh Jenkins
Ashleigh joined the Positive Impact Academy in October 2023, with extensive experience in SEMH needs previously working with CAMHS. Ashleigh has become a valuable member of the team, supporting our students across all areas of the curriculum. Ashleigh provides excellent support for all our young people, but particularly those who primary needs are associated with SEMH.
